Not Dead- Just Rebuilding
So, the folks at Apple unleashed a new iMac model, and for various reasons that I'd bet most of you don't care about, I decided I should have one. Now, I already had an iMac that was just over a year old, so I listed that on the local Craigslist (what DON'T I love about Craigslist?) and sold it, then boogied to the Apple store for the new hotness. It's lovely and fantastic, and I'm now needing to copy all my crap back and reconfigure stuff.
Weep not for me, for I am in geek Nirvana...

What? You weren't up all night loading that baby up? Were you still playing with it after Schmoop and I got off the phone?
Heh. "Playing with it." Pants, you are a naughty girl!
I suggest that next time you buy a new toy, to transfer the hard drive contents via cable from old to new, it saves time and effort.
SWEET! My mac laptop needs a brain transplant (it seems I am close to exceeding its capacity) and Mr. Chili is going to do the deed. I'm nervous as hell, not because I don't trust him, but because even the most skilled brain surgeons lose a patient now and then. My entire life (not to mention all my good recipes, all my music, nearly all my photographs, damned near all the materials for my classes, and all my students' grades) are on this thing, and I need it. NEED it, I say!
Of course the upshot is that, if there IS a critical failure, I get a new computer, no questions asked....
Oh man am i jealous.
in a last ditch effort of jealousy I hereby conjure a mac virus and send it to you. BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAA.
Pants- Yes, but I still wasn't finished.
Schmoop- If I'm the one playing with it, how does that make her the naughty one?
Lex- no doubt, and the Macs are especially adept in that area, except that I had to sell the one in order to get the other. Not being a profoundly rich fellow, you see...
Mrs. C- Backup, backup, backup...
Generalissimo and TG- no need for jealousy. I share my toys. Come over and we'll geek out. :)
Did you iron sheets while it all uploaded??? :o)
Cheesy, I really need to get my sheets together- is that what you're saying? :P
Being a fellow geek... I couldn't help but notice... Isn't that the OLDer model iMac?
Doesn't the new one have a solid screen with no white block at the bottom?
Congrats on the 'upgrade', ::Nods approvingly...albeit a little jealously::
